JOHN BARKER (1800-1864) & ALICE CORNELL
John Austin's Barker Genealogy describes John: "He was a carpenter and farmer who res. Hope until 1831, then at Edinburg, where he operated a store in his home until 1847, then to Beecher Hollow, where he was a general merchant. He moved to Northville in 1852, purchasing a millsite and a farm, which he operated until 1854, when he returned to Beecher Hollow." Austin's genealogy says John was born in Edinburg on June 24, 1800 and died in Beecher Hollow (Edinburg) on June 20, 1864. He married Alice Cornell (b. 8/18/1802 to Amos & Rhoda Pierce Cornell; d. July 31, 1881 in Edinburg, bur: Clark Schoolhouse Cemetery).
