Obituary from Bryer researcher:
Mrs. Sarah Bryer Latham, 90, died at her home on Vanburen Street at 5:30 of infirmities of old age after having been in ill health since Sept. 10, 1946. She was born Feb. 3, 1860 at Carthage, daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Bryer and attended schools at Carthage. Several years ago she moved to Antwerp. On May 19, 1883, she married the late Charles N. Latham at Carthage. He died April 9, 1922. She was a member of St. Paul’s church at Antwerp. Surviving are one daughter, Miss Harriet Lathan of Antwerp, a son Ernest died in a veterans hospital at Walla Walla, WA, July 26, 1926. Funeral services wer held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Frederick Haworth officiating. Burial was made at Hillside Cemetery, Antwerp.

NOTES:
Grandma Breyer Shaw - French – at 8 yrs. couldn't speak English,
Grandmother Breyer Shaw – Cath born in France & came over when
was ___ out in France and smuggled a baby with them. Grandfather
had to go to war with South [Luther Shaw in 1930 not listed as a
vet, so perhaps the other grandfather: Samuel E. Wilson]. Aunt Ida
thinks her father was part Dutch – Born at Sterling Village, NY.
This was taken over by government – Pine Camp, Camp Drum, then
changed to Fort Drum."
