On November 26, 1879, Percival, age 9, with mother Ann Claydon and siblings Clara, Herbert, Nora, Rose, and Bertie (Burlton) arrived at Castle Garden port of New York on the steamship SS Italy as steerage passengers. Older brother Charles and father Henry arrived four months previously.
