WALTER CLAYDON (1853 - 1925) & ELIZA ANN BEACH

Walter was the third child of Henry Claydon & Ann Manks. His birth was registered in the fourth quarter of 1853 in the Solihull registration district [FreeBMD Birth Index: “Walter Claydon, 4th quarter 1853, Solihull, Vol. 6D pg. 372”].

1861 British Census, Solihull Warwickshire: Walter, age 7, was with his family in Sheldon [Class: RG9; Piece: 2188; Folio: 103; Page: 3; GSU roll: 542932].

1871 British Census, Solihull, Warwickshire: Walter, age 18, was with his family in Solihull, working as a laborer. [RG10; Piece: 3189; Folio: 81; Page: 14; GSU roll: 839252].

In the FreeBMD Marriage Index is “Walter Claydon/Eliza Ann Beach, 1st quarter 1877 Solihull, Vol. 6D pg. 567.”

Walter & Eliza then appear in the 1900 US Census in Troy, NY. That census says their date of immigration was 1882. The 1910 US Census says 1893. The CastleGarden.org site has a record for a “Walter Cladon, age 26, laborer, arrival: May 12, 1880, from Liverpool on SS Wisconsin” accompanied by wife Eliza, age 28, and infant son Walker (Charles W.)
