James Welch was the brother of Harriet Welch Miller. When he died in 1884, Francis Johnson Miller & family were considered heirs.

Dear Sir,

re James Welch deceased.

I am favored with your letter of the 6th instant, and herewith I have the pleasure to send you 2 printed copies of the Accounts of the Trustees and Executors of the estate of your late Uncle Mr. James Welch deceased and in whose estate you are interested as one of the 35 Residuary Legatees, also printed Legacy Receipt for your signature.

On your returning me the Legacy Receipt signed by yourself where your name is pencilled and also one copy of the account with your signature at the food of the approval thereof as pencilled I will on receipt of such 2 papers duly signed by

you, obtain and transmit you a Banker's Draft for your 1/35th share in the Testator's Residuary estate namely

Please say if you can give me any information as to whether your Brother Mr. Henry Miller who your sister tells me went to America many years ago is living or dead and when you last heard of him and where he then was.
