MILLER FAMILY NOTES
The MILLER family was known to be in the Sherborne, Dorsetshire area of southern England in the late 1700s. The eldest was William Miller, who died about 1790. His only son George lived in southwest England, from the hometown of Sherborne to Southampton, Worcester, and a few other places throughout his career as an attorney, but settling mostly in Bath. He had seven children. Some stayed in the Bath area and others went further out in their careers, taking them to Sheffield and to the United States of America. George's mother Leonora remarried and had one child, Elizabeth Ann Hyde (half-sister to George). George's son William Miller stayed with Elizabeth before he had a family of his own. There are a number of Miller families in Sherborne from at least the 1600's to the 1800's, so there may very well be other Miller ancestors and descendants there.
